The centre will provide sports halls to Sport England standards, gym areas, lecture theatres and prayer halls as well as restaurants, libraries, and youth centres.

The Salaam Centre will extend across 5000sqm and have two extensive basements. A ground source heat pump will provide the space heating base load, the flat roof will host an extensive photovoltaic array. The facade design has Mashrabiya qualities which will wash the internal space with diffused natural daylight while limiting solar gain and so minimise operational energy consumption.
