Henry Metcalfe
Henry is an experienced associate electrical engineer with design history spanning multiple sectors and scales. He has fulfilled a lead role on projects in several sectors including, heritage, commercial, science and research, healthcare, religious buildings, private residential, multi residential, education, rail, studios and stadiums with construction values of up to £95m.
Henry has an enthusiasm for design innovation which has led to him being published in the CIBSE journal presenting CIBSE Build2Perform panels and speaking on CIBSE “Grow Your Knowledge” webinars. He is also working with CIBSE on the standardisation of electrical load demand estimates and calculation methods to better estimate and illustrate how building loads will fluctuate with both predicted occupancy profiling and heating/cooling degree days.
Henry’s passion for engineering stems from previous experience as an industrial electrician working on a range of systems from extra low voltage lighting controls and water quality controls to large pump sets and control panels. Having this hands-on experience has aided his understanding and appreciation for well-considered design and fostered his passion for becoming an engineer.
