Dushyant Karnik
Dushyant is an experienced sustainability consultant and certified European Passivhaus designer with extensive expertise in environmental design, building physics and low-energy building services. His diverse portfolio spans the residential, education, commercial and heritage sectors.
With a strong background in architecture and construction project management, Dushyant has successfully designed and managed a wide range of low-energy and Passivhaus projects, from single-family homes to large-scale residential and commercial developments. He advocates a fabric-first approach to achieving Net Zero Carbon (NZC) developments, prioritising energy efficiency, occupant comfort and wellbeing. He specialises in low-energy retrofits and the decarbonisation of historic estates and has developed energy strategies for local authorities, helping them achieve their sustainability targets through a holistic approach to building design.
Dushyant is also an AECB Building Standard and Retrofit Standard designer and certifier.
Dushyant serves as a Design Review Panel Member and sustainability expert for several councils, through which he provides independent guidance on development proposals. His leadership on projects for Oxford University and other key clients highlights his commitment to high-performance building standards and advancing sustainable practices in the built environment.
